Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton continues to dominate the 2016 Democratic field, but there are signs that Democrats could easily switch to Vice President Joe Biden, according to a new poll just provided to Secrets.

In their inaugural national political poll, Florida’s Saint Leo University found that 44 percent of Democrats would consider supporting Biden if he ran, making him Clinton’s nearest rival. He also had a 79 percent favorable rating.

“Biden is also very popular among Democrats, just not as universally popular as Clinton,” said the survey release.

The poll from the Catholic university 30 miles north of Tampa was further evidence that the party is only considering Clinton and Biden, though Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who has repeatedly denied interest in running, had a strong favorable rating of 39 percent to 14 percent unfavorable among Democrats.
