Fast food worker Karina McClain says she was compensated for her lost wages the day she took off to protest low fast food wages outside of a Checkers she works at in Manhattan:

McClain said union-backed groups, like Fast Food Forward and Fight for 15, were paying her about $50, or a day’s wage, to be at the protest.
