Remember how the IRS targeted Tea Party and conservative groups, harassing then and stalling their applications for years, simply because they had Tea Party or Patriot in their names? Some of the conservative groups are still waiting and others have filed law suits for the discriminatory behavior.

Now, in an ex post facto effort to justify their behavior, the IRS are trying to change the rules to redefine what qualifies as a “political group” so that these groups still waiting will then ultimately be invalidated and they will never have to give them approval.
