We thank our families, the people who help us in our lives, the military and those who serve and protect.
Who do you thank on Thanksgiving if you are a progressive media organization like Think Progress?
Why climate scientists, of course!
Think Progress wants you to “tweet out gratitude” via the hashtag #ClimateThanks to “build a stronger sense of solidarity”. Listen to their description of the poor, difficult lives of the climate scientists. It would almost make you think they did something difficult, oh let’s see, like fight in Afghanistan:
I am thankful for climate scientists, who toil away for long hours away from their family, sometimes in the most inhospitable parts of the world, for not much money (sorry disinformers) — and do so thanklessly. Indeed they do so in the face of anti-science cyber-bullying and hostility from sorry-ass disinformers — all because they have devoted their lives to averting the gravest of human tragedies. They are like the hero of Henrik Ibsen’s classic An Enemy of the People — which someone should modernize into a climate science parable.
Psst, Think Progress, first, it was cooling in the 1970s, then it was warming in the last twenty years or so, now that the “global warming” claim has been disproved, it is the ubiquitous “climate change”. Can you please make up your minds?
Oh and try to get the actual science to agree with you, while you are at it? It works better that way.
