Last week I wrote about how I felt the professional left would disintegrate over Barack Obama and the new form of far left idealistic Liberalism he had created.  This week I’m writing to tell you that I told you so.

On Sunday much ado was made over Nancy Pelosi doing her usual impersonation of a person suffering from intense alcoholism.  However no one mentioned the revealing thing she said.

In the interview which aired Sunday on MSNBC, Nancy Pelosi said the following:

“I don’t think you can tell what will happen next year, but I will tell you this: Democrats stand tall in support of the Affordable Care Act,”

See that?  “We stand tall in support of the ACA.”  Not “We stand tall in support of the President and his landmark legislation.”  Nope, gone are the days of chairman and hero Obama.

She was confronted by a reporter for Fox News channel later in the day and had this to say:

“This isn’t about him [Pres Obama] this is about the Affordable Care Act and how it will make medical coverage affordable”

There’s no defense of the President and his statements to the American people whatsoever.  No defense of the ACA so far as it relates to Obama or how the law is predicated on a lie.

Democrats are in trouble, the sweater is coming unraveled thread by thread.  The President is toxic to them whether they want to admit it or not publicly (who would?).

At this particular point in history the Individual Mandate cannot survive as law.  If Democrats are smart (and they are not) they will use the original Heritage idea for the exchanges and not force people onto them somehow.

Either that or they will have to expand Medicare an existing entitlement program to cover the millions who do not have coverage.

There are lot of things we can do to help people who do not have insurance get insurance and not rack up our hospital bills too.  Forcing hundreds of millions of people off their plans or onto higher premiums to satisfy a small percentage of America is simply not the answer.
