Rep. Debbie Wasserman Schultz (D-Fla.) said the party would not abandon President Obama on Friday by supporting a GOP bill that would allow insurance companies to offer their old plans under the new healthcare law.

“[The bill] would set up two completely different tracks and further undermine the implementation of the Affordable Care Act,” Wasserman Schultz said Thursday on CNN’s New Day. “Democrats will not revolt tomorrow.”

The “Keep Your Plan” bill, proposed by Rep. Fred Upton (R-Mich.), is gaining dozens of co-sponsors ahead of a vote this week. The legislation presently has 161 co-sponsors, including three Democrats.
