In reality McAuliffe saw a solid double-digit lead the week before the election crumble to just two points all because of Obamacare.

[O]bama, Vice President Joe Biden and other senior aides spent two hours on Wednesday meeting with Senate Democrats up for reelection in 2014, who voiced concerns that problems with the rollout of the law could be damaging to their chances next November.

Carney pointed to the fact that Obama campaigned on health care reform in 2008 and 2012 and “he won” as a sign that the law can be politically beneficial.

Citing polling done by Terry McAuliffe’s pollster, Geoff Garin, Carney also argued that the Democrat’s Tuesday win in the Virginia gubernatorial race showed “if anything, health care worked in [his] favor.”
