MINNEAPOLIS (KMSP) – With a game against the Washington Redskins just three days away, six members of the Minneapolis City Council released an open letter calling on the team’s owner to change the name and mascot.

The letter, which was dated Monday and is addressed to NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell as well as franchise owner Dan Snyder, condemns “the racism inherent in the ‘Redskins’ name.”
