Rep. Darrell Issa, R-Calif., subpoenaed the Health and Human Services Department late Wednesday, a House Oversight Committee spokeswoman said.

The subpoena requested unredacted documents containing information about HealthCare.gov’s technical problems, user capacity, testing, design, and software problems. Issa is also seeking information about testing and technical issues in the federal data hub and exchanges.

During congressional hearings earlier this week, both HHS Secretary Kathleen Sebelius and the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services Administrator Marilyn Tavenner declined to offer enrollment specifics. Issa’s subpoena requested the number of health insurance enrollment attempts on HealthCare.gov and the total enrollment number. HHS has said on multiple occasions that it would release monthly enrollment reports and anticipates that October’s report will be released by mid-November.
