Meghan McCain has said that she thinks both she and her father are ‘pains in the ass’, saying that the description is part a product of the current political environment and part family trademark.
The 29-year-old has launched her own cable television show and she was speaking out about a recent episode where she sat her famous father, Senator John McCain, down for a formal interview.
‘It was awful! It was awful! Never interview people you love,’ she told Yahoo News about the experience.
A clip from the episode shows Mr McCain reflecting on his children to Meghan: ‘I’m proud of you and Jack and Jimmy and Bridget and that doesn’t mean that all of you are not a giant pain in the ass from time to time,’ he said.
Meghan laughed off the remark, and taking it almost as a badge of honor from her father who has traded on his ‘maverick’ status throughout his political career.
