Here’s an idea, stop trying to kill us and extra scrutiny won’t be necessary.
Southfield — Muslim activists are calling for a federal investigation into claims Arab-Americans and Muslims are routinely harassed, groped and grilled about their religion at U.S. border crossings.
The Michigan chapter of the Council on American Islamic Relations on Thursday said it’s received dozens of complaints about inappropriate questions and treatment at the Ambassador Bridge and Blue Water Bridge in Port Huron. At least a dozen women of Somali descent claim they were physically searched in “invasive and humiliating ways,” said Lena Masri, staff attorney for CAIRMichigan.
“They felt (the searches) were inappropriate and a form of sexual harassment,” said Masri at a news conference Thursday at the office of CAIR-Michigan in Southfield.
