Natives violently confronted Mounties at a fracking site in New Brunswick on Thursday, after RCMP moved in to clear their protest.

Protesters said Mounties hit them with pepper spray and rubber bullets as they moved in to enforce an Oct. 3 court injunction against the standoff near Rexton.

Natives reportedly torched police cruisers in retaliation.

Natives had been blocking SWN Resources Canada workers access to their trucks. The company is testing for shale gas.
