Americans who want to honor and reflect upon the memory of the crew and passengers who perished aboard United Flight 93 will find the entrance gates to the open-air memorial locked.

The Flight 93 National Memorial near Shanksville, Pennsylvania is closed because of the government shutdown.

CNSNews.com photographed the closed entrance gates to the memorial this past weekend with signs that say: “Because of the federal government shutdown, this National Park Service facility is closed.”
