Three teenagers were seriously wounded when shots rang out during a basketball game in the Southeast Side Jeffery Manor neighborhood.

The shooting happened shortly before 9 p.m. Tuesday as the three were playing basketball inside Merrill Park in the 2100 block of East 97th Street, police said.

A 15-year-old boy was shot in the leg and the buttocks and taken to Comer Children’s Hospital, police said. Two other boys, ages 16 and 17, were each struck in both legs and were taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn.

All three teenagers were in serious-to-critical condition when they were taken to the hospitals, but their conditions have been stabilized, fire and police officials said.
