HQ is all clear. Thanks to all our LE and FD partners. "Explosion" was related to area construction project. HQ reopening now.

Area around the police station had streets shut down. Again no reported damage or injuries. Explosion was outside building. Searching underway all through building, parking lot, surrounding area.
All CPD personnel are safe. No damage or injuries reported. No known concern for downtown. Pay attention for area street closures.

Police received a tip about someone dropping something down a manhole near #CPD HQ before possible explosion. Terrorism task force assisting

A police dispatcher with the Columbus police dept tells the Associated Press that an explosion has been reported at the Police Headquarters of the Columbus Police Department. No injuries or fatalities have been reported.

Ohio 10TV is reporting that the explosion (or at least the sound of one) came from the deli on the second floor of the Police HQ
