Ideologically these two are on the same wavelength.
NEW YORK — A day after formally endorsing New York City Public Advocate Bill de Blasio in the race to succeed Mayor Mike Bloomberg, President Obama will have a brief meeting with the Democratic nominee Tuesday night.
The meeting will take place at the Waldorf Astoria, where Obama will speak at a Democratic National Committee reception in his last stop before heading back to Washington.
People familiar with the plans stress that the meeting will be short, essentially a fast conversation at some point when Obama and de Blasio are able to pull aside at some point around the event.
But even a short meeting will be enough time for a photo of the two together, which will give de Blasio yet another boost as he runs a general election race in which he’s the heavy frontrunner against Republican Joe Lhota in this heavily Democratic city.
