Saudi Arabia’s King Abdullah decided to grant $200 million for the development of Palestinian cities and to protect their Arab and Islamic character against Judaization, according to a report on Monday in the Saudi newspaper Arab News.

Municipal and Rural Affairs Minister Prince Mansour bin Miteb announced the news on Sunday while opening a conference of the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities in Saudi Arabia. In addition to preventing Judaization, he said that laws need to be passed for the protection of the environment and sustainable development.

According to its website, the Organization of Islamic Capitals and Cities is a non-profit organization founded in 1980 and is an affiliate organization to the Organization of the Islamic Conference.

The website claims that the organization “does not interfere in the affairs of any State.”
