Apparently, David Miranda, Glenn Greenwald’s domestic partner, was acting as a courier for stolen information from Edward Snowden, hence the reason Mirana was stopped at the airport in London and questioned for nine hours.

Ambassador John Bolton makes the point that if this was in fact, stolen secrets, the government had every right to destroy the information the Guardian or Miranda were trying to ferry/access.
