Somebody really needs to tell Al Qaeda we beat them. Barry?
Via FoxNews Philadelphia:
The U.S. State Department will keep a number of embassies closed at least through the end of the week.
This comes as top lawmakers say terror threats are as serious as before Sept. 11, 2001.
But how are the closures impacting local travel? FOX 29’s Stephanie Esposito reported live from Philadelphia International Airport on Monday morning.
A total of U.S. embassies in 19 cities around the world will remain closed through at least through the end of the week.
The closures at embassies and consulates in the Middle East and North Africa are in response to what’s being called the “gravest terrorist threat” seen in years.
Lawmakers say high-level people from al-Qaida in the Arabian Peninsula have planned a major attack. And they say the “chatter” is reminiscent of what we saw before 9/11.
It’s suggested that al-Qaida is targeting not just the U.S. but western interests, and “may involve public transportation systems and other tourist infrastructure.”
The president is being updated on a regular basis, and his national security team has been meeting.
