Sen. John McCain (R-Ari.) bristlesd at the notion he’s an “angry and bitter” lawmaker, but acknowledged that there’s a part of his legacy that has left him unfulfilled.

“Am I happy?,” McCain asked in a wide-ranging interview published Wednesday in The New Republic. “I’d like to be president of the United States.”
