They first attacked the police who were trying to cut off their entrance to the Tahrir. Firing is reportedly still going on now. A call for ambulances and more anti-Morsi supporters to rush to the Square was tweeted out.
Calls from the stage in #Tahrir now: Please come and join us, Ambulances needed ASAP and people to protect the square… #Egypt

Update:
This is a tweet with picture of the MB marching on Tahrir Square. Notice the sticks and helmets on their heads-clearly planning on stirring up trouble.

The initial word was they were marching on the U.S. Embassy but then some apparently veered off to attack the protesters at the Square. Others did continue onto the Embassy. Hundreds of police in riot gear came out to protect the Embassy. Some were also protecting the entrance into Tahrir but there were still skirmishes and shootings at the periphery.
Here is video of the MB, still in helmets, firing toward people:
There are also reports that the Brotherhood plans on marching on the diplomatic quarter.
If they wanted to unite Egypt against them again, they’re doing a great job.
Of course, CNN and other MSM are referring to “clashes” between pro and anti Morsi factions. An attack isn’t a clash.
