MSNBC pundit Chris Matthews said the famous Washington NBC studio would be known “finally and forever” for airing The Chris Matthews Show, which aired its final episode Sunday.
Among other historic moments, the studio hosted the historic first televised presidential debate between Richard Nixon and John F. Kennedy in 1960:
MATTHEWS: This studio here in Washington is a home to serious history in the making. President Eisenhower laid the cornerstone. Jack Kennedy and Richard Nixon debated right here, and now it it will be remembered finally and forever as the place from which “The Chris Matthews Show” came to you, enriching your understanding of the news, thinking aloud of aspects perhaps you hadn’t thought of, and yes, as it has for me, telling you something you didn’t know.
