With Weiner leading the race for mayor, and Spitzer looking good for comptroller (assuming he gets on the ballot) NYC could have the most sexually depraved administration ever.
Via Politico:
Former New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer is enjoying quite a healthy lead in the city comptroller race even though he might not even make it on the ballot in time, a new poll has found.
Spitzer leads Manhattan Borough President Scott Stringer by 9 percentage points (42-33) in an NBC 4 New York/Wall Street Journal/Marist poll released Wednesday, even though the disgraced politician only announced his candidacy Sunday.
He also enjoys a rather high favorability rating with 46 percent of Democrats saying they had a good opinion of him and only 40 percent saying the same of Stringer. A rather large majority of 67 percent of Democrats thought he deserved a second chance, with 44 percent saying he has changed. Almost two-thirds said the scandal had little to no consequence on the race, the poll said.
In 2008, Spitzer was forced to resign as the Empire State’s governor after he was caught in a prostitution scandal.
