Premature detonation syndrome strikes again.

(PressTV) — “Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) conducted a series of cleanup operations in Baghlan, Faryab, Ghazni, Kunar and Paktia provinces, killing nine Taliban militants and wounding two others. Six more armed men were also arrested over the past 24 hours,” the Afghan Interior Ministry said in a statement issued on Saturday.

The statement, however, did not mention whether there were any casualties on the side of Afghan forces.

Moreover, Afghan police forces shot dead two bombers in the southeastern province of Paktika on Friday, leading to one explosion. Two policemen sustained slight injuries in the blast.

Three militants were also killed on Friday evening, when an improvised explosive device (IED) they were planting along a main road in the eastern province of Nangarhar went off prematurely.
