The police chant for Morsi to leave so that Egypt might live. They are also calling for a military coup against Morsi.

It is not clear how many police this might encompass, although many did nothing as the Muslim Brotherhood main offices in Cairo were set on fire.

Liberals in Egypt have claimed they have 22 million signatures on a petition for Morsi to leave and speculation is growing that he may be forced to resign if the military were to move against him.

Morsi is now talking about the necessity for “dialogue” and “peaceful protest”, hoping to stave off the anger of those in the streets.

But it may be a bit too little, too late.
