Considering Obama’s slide in the polls “Obamaphobia” must be contagious.

Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) offered a diagnosis on Tuesday for what he believes afflicts Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX).

The outspoken Texas Republican said Monday that President Barack Obama is the “biggest obstacle” to immigration reform because he advocates a path to citizenship, a provision loathed by much of the GOP. But during an appearance on MSNBC, Menendez said that it was actually the bipartisan Gang of Eight — of which he is a member — that pushed for a path to citizenship.

“Well, I think he has Obamaphobia,” Menendez said of Cruz. “The reality is that it is the Gang of Eight that came together — four Democrats, four Republicans — and said that we need a path to citizenship.”

(Breitbart) — A spokeswoman for Sen. Ted Cruz told Breitbart News that her boss might just be suffering from a case of “Obamaphobia,” as Sen. Bob Menendez (D-NJ) diagnosed earlier on Tuesday, depending on what the symptoms of such a condition are.

“If Obamaphobia means fear of government tyranny and the willingness to stand against it, I wouldn’t say that’s inaccurate,” Cruz spokeswoman Catherine Frazier said in an email.
