Nah, nothing to do with mental illness, it’s all the evil NRA’s fault!

MSNBC host Martin Bashir blamed the National Rifle Association for the deaths of six people in a shooting rampage in Santa Monica, Calif. Friday, claiming that their successful lobbying against the passage of gun control legislation in Congress led to the victims’ deaths.
Bashir made the outrageous claim during the closing segment of his show Monday.
“But, aided by the lobbying powers of the NRA, Congress couldn’t do anything,” Bashir stated. “And on Friday, [shooter] John Zawahri walked around the streets of Santa Monica with 1,300 rounds of ammunition. It’s a miracle only six people died in Santa Monica – but don’t worry, so long as we do nothing to improve gun safety, the next mass killing is just around the corner.”
He also asserted that the real tragedy from the shootings in Santa Monica wasn’t the loss of life, but rather that Zawahri had so much ammunition on him.
