Edward Snowden, the NSA leaker, was not an Obama voter. He told the Guardian that he voted for a third party candidate in 2008.

Apparently, he was at least a bit of a Paulista, as he donated money to Ron Paul:

Snowden worked as a contractor for Booz Allen at the NSA office in Hawaii.

Booz Allen said Sunday night that Snowden had been an employee for less than three months. “News reports that this individual has claimed to have leaked classified information are shocking, and if accurate, this action represents a grave violation of the code of conduct and core values of our firm,” the company said in a statement. “We will work closely with our clients and authorities in their investigation of this matter.”

Snowden says he fled to Hong Kong because of their respect for freedom of speech. Perhaps he is seeing something we are not, as Hong Kong has its own issues with free speech and surveillanceand has been a part of China, albeit as “two systems” since 1997.
