An official with the nation’s biggest abortion business will soon become the state chair of the Georgia Democratic Party.
Nikema Williams, vice president of public policy for Planned Parenthood Southeast, will take over from Georgia Democratic Party Chair Mike Berlon, who will be stepping down on Sunday.
Berlon “announced his resignation last week, citing concerns by Democratic leaders that his personal issues were becoming a distraction as a major election year looms,” according to AP.
AP indicates Williams “will assume leadership of the party until a permanent chair is elected.”
