Former Senator Bob Dole appeared on Fox News Sunday and had scathing words for the leaders of the party that once nominated him for president.
“I think they ought to put a sign on the National Committee door that says ‘closed for repairs,’ until New Years’ Day next year,” Dole told Chris Wallace, “and spend that time going over ideas and positive agendas.” […]
“Could people like Bob Dole, even Ronald Reagan, could you make it in today’s Republican party?” Wallace asked.
“I doubt it,” Dole said. “Reagan couldn’t have made it. Certainly Nixon couldn’t have made it, because he had ideas.”
