Illinois senator Dick Durbin on Sunday labeled efforts to determine whether the Obama administration engineered a cover-up of the terrorist attack in Benghazi a “witch-hunt” He cited e-mails provided by the Obama administration, which reporters have used to unravel the story of what happened that night, as proof that the administration has been candid from the get-go.

“There is no attempt to cover it up,” Durbin told CBS’ Bob Schieffer, arguing, “This is a squabble between two agencies, the CIA and the State Department, about the wording” of talking points provided to Congress and United Nations ambasador Susan Rice in the wake of the attack.
