What is the old saying, the only thing necessary for evil to triumph is for good men to do nothing? If that is true, it is doubly so about people so caught up in ideology that they have forgotten how to be good in the areas impacting their ideological fixations.
That sure seems to be what happened with staffers at Planned Parenthood of Southeastern Pennsylvania, who were told about the Gosnell lack of basic sanitation, and yet, no one did anything about it. From the Philadelphia Inquirer story:
“The Gosnell trial has shifted the focus off the high-quality services we provide,” said Dayle Steinberg, the organization’s president and chief executive. “These are criminal, horrendous . . . acts and should be appropriately punished.” Steinberg said that when Gosnell was in practice, women would sometimes come to Planned Parenthood for services after first visiting Gosnell’s West Philadelphia clinic, and would complain to staff about the conditions there.”We would always encourage them to report it to the Department of Health,” Steinberg said as she sat with [Gloria] Steinem before Tuesday’s events.”
