(CNN) – Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev will not be treated as an enemy combatant, White House Press Secretary Jay Carney said at a press briefing Monday.
“He will not be treated as an enemy combatant,” Carney said. “We will prosecute this terrorist through our civilians system of justice. Under U.S. law, United States citizens cannot be tried in military commissions.”

(TPM) — A federal magistrate judge was present during the arraignment of Boston bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on Monday, Gary Wente, circuit executive for the U.S. Courts for the First Circuit, told Reuters. Tsarnaev was arraigned in his hospital bed where is still considered in “serious” condition.
Update: The Obama regime is saying they aren’t sure if they will seek the death penalty.
