Mail bombs, how progressive.

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. – MCSO says a package containing an explosive device and addressed to Sheriff Joe Arpaio has been destroyed.

The package was intercepted in Flagstaff, Arizona, by local law enforcement. It was addressed to Arpaio’s downtown Phoenix office.

Authorities discovered the device when it was X-rayed, according to Flagstaff Police. A bomb team was deployed and the device was detonated.

Flagstaff Police, the FBI and U.S. Postal inspectors are investigating, and authorities in Flagstaff say they already have leads.

Three Maricopa County Sheriff’s deputies have been dispatched to Flagstaff to assist in the investigation.
