During the White House soul-music concert last night with Justin Timberlake, President Obama joked that he was one the “best-known Al Green impersonators.”
“Tonight, I am speaking not just as a President, but as one of America’s best-known Al Green impersonators,” he said as the crowd laughed. “So I have a new appreciation for what Al once said about the Memphis Soul sound that he helped create — ‘We don’t even know ourselves how that music has endured for so long and how that came out of us.’
