In the chaotic aftermath of a Houston campus mass stabbing Tuesday, a Lone Star Community College student gave a brutally honest interview with Fox News, lamenting the fact that students can’t carry firearms to protect themselves and others.
“God protected us in our classroom,” he said. “We wish we could protect ourselves with guns and stuff. We wish that the law would let us carry guns because we’re legal adults, [to] carry guns on campus to protect ourselves. But so far all we have to rely on is God. But we would love to have God and the law on our side.”
The young man told the account of when he and roughly 50 other students barricaded themselves inside a classroom when they heard a lot of loud banging noises, “like a rock concert.” He told Fox News that none of the students in the classroom received the school’s text message alert until about an hour after the incident.

At least 14 students were injured Tuesday in a bizarre stabbing incident at Lone Star College CyFair in which a student apparently ran from building to building on the Houston-area campus cutting people with a sharp knife or pencil, authorities said.
A suspect was detained after a student tackled him running across campus, Harris County deputy Thomas Gilliland tells reporters.
“The attack was at random,” Gilliland said. “It was the same suspect going from building to building.” Attacks occurred mainly in the the Health and Science Center and the technology building.
A student identified only as James tells KTRK-TV in Houston that he helped authorities take one person into custody. He says the suspect, who appeared to be a student, may be hearing impaired, and was armed with a knife similar to an exacto knife, that may be used in animal dissections.
