President Obama will travel to Connecticut next week in the latest stop on his road trip to push his gun control proposals.

Obama will deliver a speech on Monday in Hartford, where he will “ask Americans to join in calling on Congress to pass common-sense measures to reduce gun violence,” a White House official said.

The trip, Obama’s first to Connecticut since speaking at the memorial service for the 26 people killed in the December massacre at Newtown’s Sandy Hook Elementary School, will extend to three weeks Obama’s effort to reinvigorate his gun control push.

Last week he appeared in East Room of the White House to assert that he has not forgotten about Newtown’s victims and responded specifically to a POLITICO report that momentum for his reforms has stalled.
