For once Pelosi wasn’t the most-Botoxed person in the room.

Via Hollywood Reporter:

More than 40 Hollywood politicos — including Barbra Streisand, James Brolin and Haim Saban — gathered Thursday night at a closed-door meeting at Norman Lear’s Westside mansion, where they heard Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi lay out the party’s plans for recapturing the House in the 2014 mid-terms.

“The message was: ‘We have to start now,'” one attendee said. “We have a year, and these races are going to be close. They’re looking to Hollywood for support.”

At the session, Pelosi and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee Chairman Steve Israel, who attended a fundraiser luncheon co-hosted by entertainment lawyer Chuck Ortner on Thursday, did a PowerPoint presentation identifying seats that the DCCC believes will be in play during the next election and outlined some of the themes the national party will promote to capture them. Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that the meeting was organized along the same lines as one that Saban hosted a year ago, with one exception — this time the crowd gathered around to watch finale of 30 Rock, which featured a cameo by Pelosi.

Naturally, the fundraising needs for the 2014 House campaigns were high on the agenda. The Dems are looking to Hollywood and the entertainment industry to play a major role in helping them fund the effort to hold onto their Senate majority and to recapture the House, which would give Pelosi another shot at the speakership.
