Dramatic video shows the moment a politician survived an apparent assasination attempt during a televised speech in Bulgaria.
Footage of the incident shows a crazed gunman jumping on stage and pointing a small black pistol close to Ahmed Dogan’s head.
Mr Dogan – leader of Bulgaria’s Movement for Rights and Freedoms party – instinctively raises his arm in defence, but it appears the pistol fails to go off.
The two men wrestle briefly beside the rostrum, before security staff race on stage and bundle the assailant to the floor amid loud boos from the audience.
In the ensuing chaos, furious delegates and officials dressed in smart suits are seen raining punches and kicks down on the hapless assailant.
