Rep. Chris Van Hollen (D., Md.) argued the gun lobby uses “scare tactics” in a Tuesday interview with MSNBC.

“As the president said the other day the Washington based gun lobby uses scare tactics to suggest that even when you want to take a common sense measure, like having a universal background check, that the next step is the the federal government is going to take everyone’s guns away,” Van Hollen said. “That is just nonsense.”
