If we know nothing else about Michigan Governor Rick Snyder it is that he doesn’t take his cues directly from Big Labor. That didn’t stop the American Federation of Teachers from claiming that they were the ones that got him to use his veto pen today to reject a right-to-carry gun bill.

The AFT sent an email to reporters this afternoon with the header: “Following AFT Letter, Snyder Vetoes Bill Allowing Guns In Public Schools.” The provided a link to a Detroit Free Press article on the governor’s action and added: “This comes just days after AFT President Randi Weingarten and AFT Michigan President David Hecker sent a letter to Governor Snyder urging him to veto this dangerous legislation.
