(CNSNews.com) – Speaking at a Capitol Hill news conference on Nov. 17, the newly elected chairwoman of the Congressional Black Caucus said critics of U.N. Ambassador Susan Rice should “look in the mirror and hate yourself” rather than blame a diplomat for the Sept. 11 attack on the U.S. embassy in Benghazi, Libya that resulted in the deaths of four Americans.

“Susan Rice’s comments didn’t send us to Iraq and Afghanistan,” Rep. Marcia Fudge (D-Ohio) said in reference to Rice’s public comments following the attack placing blame on an anti-Islamic video.

Fudge said people who spoke in favor of sending U.S. troops into Iraq – including Rice’s most outspoken critics, Sens. John McCain (R-Ariz.) and Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.) – weren’t criticized for their remarks at the tim
