(CNSNews.com) — Movie director and producer Oliver Stone told Al Jazeera in a video interview last week that President Barack Obama “never had any liberals in his inner circle,” surrounding himself instead with advisers whom Stone described as “hawkish” and “conservative.”
“Why didn’t he do anything to restore some of the laws that Bush so egregiously broke,” Stone said of Obama.
“This is a very key question, and it puzzles many of us. I mean, he surrounded himself from the get-go with advisers who were hawkish, conservative economic advisers, as well as [former Defense Secretary Robert] Gates over at Defense who was an old hawk from the ‘80s and Hillary Clinton, whose maybe the most hawkish Democratic—”
Al Jazeera interviewer Rosalind Jordan interrupted: “A former CIA operative,”
“Yeah, Bob Gates, yeah. Bob Gates, yeah,” said Stone.
