Huh? Say what you want about Scott Brown (I’m no fan but I held my nose and voted for him to try and stop Elizabeth Warren) but he is definitely not a partisan.
Via Politico:
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) lashed out at Sen. Scott Brown on Wednesday as he expressed confidence that Democrats could hold onto the Massachusetts seat if Sen. John Kerry is nominated to a Cabinet position.
Speaking to reporters Wednesday, Reid ridiculed Brown’s calls for bipartisanship, saying the defeated Republican “should look up in the mirror.”
“I saw his plea for bipartisanship,” Reid said dismissively. “That is a big joke. It’s a travesty. Hes one of the most partisan people [who has served]. He could have saved Citizens United. He could have been the 60th vote on many other things. … I don’t need any advice from him on bipartisanship.”
While Brown was defeated last week by Democrat Elizabeth Warren, he has reason to undermine the moderate senator’s calls for bipartisanship. If Kerry is selected to a Cabinet position, potentially to head the State or Defense departments, there would be a vacancy and a special election possibly next year. Brown has not ruled out running again for the seat.
