Of course, it would be a lot funnier if he wasn’t a heartbeat away from the presidency.
DAVENPORT, Iowa – Calling the Hawkeye State the “political center of gravity,” Vice President Joe Biden joked Wednesday about his own recent slip, when he told an Ohio crowd that he was in Iowa.
“I’ve been living in Ohio like I used to live in Iowa,” he said during an evening stop at an Obama campaign office here, after flying north following two daytime rallies in Florida.
“As a matter of fact, I got in trouble [with] the press, which never points out any mistake I make,” he joked. “I was in Ohio talking about it and saying it’s good to be here in Ohio and then I said and in Iowa.”
“Your heart is here,” one woman in the crowd shouted.
At a rally in Marion, Ohio, a week ago, Biden said he was “here in Iowa.” He made a similar slip earlier in the day Wednesday, when he referred to the Cleveland Plain Dealer as “one of the major newspapers in this state” – while speaking at a rally in Florida.
