Socialist CUNY professor Frances Fox Piven is glad that one of her close friends has named her children after her state welfare director and laughs off the notion of the state being their father.
Piven’s odd remarks were given at the The Steinhardt School of Culture, Education, and Human Development in New York in April, where Piven was asked to address a large group of students on the history of welfare in America.
