Sen. John McCain (R-Ari.), a prominent Romney backer, on Tuesday laughingly addressed the Obama campaign’s new ad featuring Big Bird, joking that he differs from the GOP candidate over the “Sesame Street” star.

During his Senate career, McCain has been a staunch opponent of earmarks in legislation.
