Dhaka, Oct 5 (bdnews24.com) — Activists of several Islamist organisations demonstrated on Friday protesting the controversial amateurish made-in-US video, Innocence of Muslims, which denigrates Prophet Muhammad.

Khelafat-e-Islami, Juba Jomiat and Islami Chhatra Morcha took out separate processions after Juma prayers, the weekly Muslim prayers, from the national mosque Baitul Mokarram and terminated in front of the National Press Club.

From a rally in front of the National Press Club, the speakers called for banning the film and exemplary punishment to its makers.

No untoward incident, however, occurred though traffic movement was hampered for a while in front of the press club due to the rally. Police diverted the traffic closing one side of the road.

After its release on Youtube, Innocence of Muslims triggered off protests across the Muslim world. The US embassies in Libya and Egypt were attacked. The US ambassador to Libya and three other Americans died in the attack. Protests against the film in other parts of the Muslim world also claimed many lives.
