“The middle class was buried by the policies that Romney and Ryan have supported,” Vice President Joe Biden told a crowd just now in Asheville, N.C.

Earlier in the day Biden said that Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan would raise taxes on a middle class that has already been “buried” for the past four years — not exactly a positive assessment of the economy under President Obama. Romney’s campaign pounced on the remark, highlighting it in twitter, on the trail and in a conference call.
