Why am I not surprised?
Via Weekly Standard:
President Barack Obama’s closest political adviser, David Axelrod, is scheduled to appear at a fundraiser later today for a Democratic candidate for Congress who linked the Tea Party with the shooting in Tucson that injured former congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. The Democrat that will be joined by Axelrod is former congressman Bill Foster who is running for a House seat in the Illinois.
“It was a Congress on Your Corner event where Gabby Giffords was shot down by that crazy person,” Foster recently said at a town hall. “And I used to talk to Gabby. We both lived in districts where there was a substantial Tea Party presence, and we would have substantial fraction of people who would show up there and . And I would talk to Gabby about how we deal with these people, and what you do when you have to move on to the next person. It had a tremendous effect on my staff when Gabby was shot. It was something I always thought about late at night.”
Audio of Foster’s remarks linking the Tea Party with the Giffords shooting was obtained earlier this month by the Washington Free Beacon.
